Meet Afton JohnsonA Trailblazer in Self-Defense and Fitness Training

Her journey began in 2015 after escaping an abusive marriage.

Afton Johnson (Ifadoja Bamigbala-Aresa), a New Orleans native, is a passionate fitness professional and self-defense instructor. Her journey began in 2015 after escaping an abusive marriage. As a survivor of domestic violence, Afton is deeply committed to empowering individuals, particularly those from vulnerable communities. Her clients range from law enforcement officials to survivors of abuse to those simply seeking to feel safer.

Our Mission at Incendiary Training Services

Our mission at Incendiary Training Services is to provide specialized self defense, fitness and strength training that empower individuals from marginalized communities. We recognize that personal safety is a fundamental right, and our commitment lies in offering training that is practical, accessible, and trauma informed. By focusing on basic defensive techniques, mobility training, strength conditioning, and emotional well-being, we strive to equip our clients with the tools they need to overcome violence, build resilience, and lead healthier, safer lives. Together, we create a supportive environment where individuals can heal, grow, and live fearlessly.

Specialized self-defense programs for individuals and groups at any skill level

Self-Defense Training

Our specialized training programs provide individuals and groups with the opportunity to grow at any stage of their development. Training is tailored to meet the client’s specific needs and can include basic fundamentals, striking, groundwork, and defenses against common attacks. Our team of instructors are trained in a variety of disciplines, including Kickboxing, Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling, Judo, and Grappling. The ultimate goal is to impart skills that anyone can incorporate to successfully protect themselves.

Mobility training for joint flexibility, strength, and injury prevention

Mobility Training

Our mobility training program will increase joint flexibility and proper body alignment. The outcome is to optimize natural strength and agility, minimizing body aches and pains. This training reduces injury risk, enhances overall physical performance, and allows everyday tasks to be completed with ease.

Strengthen stabilizing muscles for improved power transfer and performance

Strength & Conditioning Training

Our focus is on developing the small muscles that act as stabilizers for the larger joints. Developing these muscles leads to more efficient power transfer and improves physical performance. Our programs are individually tailored and include resistance training, cardio, plyometrics training, and weightlifting.
