Throughout my years of instructing, I’ve encountered people from all walks of life. While there’s a learning curve for those new to physical activity, the defensive techniques are designed to mimic natural bodily responses. This means anyone can learn to perform these techniques. While you may not become a high-ranking practitioner, you can definitely learn enough to protect yourself in dangerous situations.
There’s no magic number for becoming proficient in defensive techniques. Remember, progress takes time, and self-defense is a learned response to high-stress situations. Pace yourself, practice regularly, and allow your body to develop muscle memory.
Self-defense training is right for you if you’ve ever thought:
